The subject

Dhirubhai Ambani (1932–2002) founded Reliance Industries in 1966, growing it from a small textile trading business into one of India's largest industrial groups. He took the company public in 1977, and is widely credited with bringing share ownership within reach of ordinary Indian investors.

The work

A tribute to Shri Dhirubhai Ambani and a legacy built out of ambition — assembled, appropriately, from objects designed around problem-solving. The portrait exists only at distance: stand close and it dissolves into an inventory of coloured squares.
